Hi Guys,
Im a bit confused by the following 1881 Census

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec/?htx=view&r=5538&dbid=7572&iid=WORRG11_2919_2923-0691&fn=Hannah&ln=Webley&st=r&ssrc=&pid=23522293

The residence is Hardwick Court, in which my G.G. Grandfather EDWIN WALDRON worked as a 'FARM SERVANT INDOOR' for the Jeffes family. The thing is I am confused to whether the Jeffes family actually lived there or whether 2 servants were there alone purposly for the upkeep of the property.
At the bottom of the census below the entry is a '1 U' in the unhabited coloum.

Thanks
Erika :-) x

He's in the same property as the Jeffes. His relationship to the head of the household is servant.

It is the next property which is uninhabited. There are two almost indistinguishable lines after your g.g.grandfather's name which means that is the end of that household.

I go with Rose, it is the same family house, the two last people are servants.

Kathleen, I don't understand what you mean by there being two indistinguishable lines after Erika's gg grandfather.

If you look down the columns on the census form - the first column is the schedule number, the second column has the address the third column has "inhabited buildings" and the fourth has "uninhabited buildings". Down the edge of this fourth column at the end of each separate household there are two slanting lines which separates each household. In the case of Edwin Waldron these two lines are barely visible but if you zoom right in you can see them. This means that the uninhabited house is the next building.
