	I have found through the WW1 records of James Mawdsley, that his brother William was living in America by the end of that war. William was born in 1885 in Bootle, and i have looked through the passenger lists of ships going to the States from 1905 to 1920 and have founfd a couple of William Mawdsley`s, but none fit the info i have. How can I find if he is on a USA census? Kathlyn

	Ellis Island has the arrival of Jemima Mawdsley, 28, and children William Henry, 3, and George A., 2, on 7 Dec.1913 aboard the SS Caronia. Nearest relative in England was her father, Wm. H. Porter, 90 Berry St., Bootle, Liverpool. They were heading to New york to join husband Wm. Mawdsley, 40 Trontman St., Brooklyn, NY. Ellis island site is free, you just have to register.
