No, you won't be able to get rid of the blanks if the children are attached to him or her.

Delete the other duplicate partner then amend the blank one to show the correct details.

hi Inspectorgreenpen,
tried that but can't get rid of the "blanks". I can't work out what I've done wrong cos I've only just sarted having this problem. Thanks for you advice.
Regards

ps does anyone else have the problem of not being able to click on "change parent"? or is it meeee.

The issue here is that the GR tree automatically enters a 'blank' partner / spouse when you add a parent. What you then need to do is to edit this entry with the appropriate details.

What you should do now is to delete the spouse you have added, the one without any children attached to its partnership, then change / edit the name of the other to the correct details.

PS Do Jim's 'Change Parent' tip first if you have children attached to more than one.

If I understand you correctly you have a father with two wives and one or more children.Click on a child and "Change Parents" will appear.

Hi Jim,
I can't click on "change parent" , undo or print. these three options on my tree menu are not highlighted (very faint print). I tried clicking on that option but got nowhere. Thanks for tip. Is there any way I can access these options?
Regards

There is a "change parent" option from each child.
Switch each child then delete "mother"

Delete the one you have not given any children,if you have gone a long way with one it takes ages,as you have to delete from the bottom.

Hi can anyone advise me how to delete a duplicate person on the family tree. I have clicked on "mother" on my family tree and entered the info - I then end up with 2 entries on the tree for the same person! I can't delete one of them because the system wont let me. Hope someone understands what I mean. Is there any way I can "tidy up" my tree. Thanks
