I have just found, with the help of wonderful people on this site, that two of my grandfathers cousins emigrated to the States in the early years of the 1900s. I am hoping that they are doing family research over there, but I have not found anyone on GR or Ancestry.

Any suggestions warmly received.

Hi

If you post their names then maybe somebody will be able to find them or their families for you

As Jacqueline said, put up their names and any details you have already been given or seen on census. US ones go up to 1930, and it is possibly that there are WW2 draft records also available.

If they have a unique inherited name, it may be possible to look them up in the US 'white pages'. Also, if they had lived in a small town/ship, there may be a local historical society who would help.

One of my grt x n uncles and famly went over there in 1842. One of his descendents had a name C* B* F* E*, his son C*B*F*E 2nd, and, you've guessed it, C*B*F*E 3rd!! The latter is listed in the phone book, was written to and has responded with a wealth of info and inherited photos including ones of the original immigrants - fascinating!!!

The local historian is involved and will be making a presentation to her group early in the New Year. In the end 4 of us cooperated on the project + a few more locals with their expertise.

Hope you have as much success.
