Hi

This is driving me mad! About a year ago I found a site (though this board I think) where you could look up more recent events and I found my own marriage on it from 2001.

Has any body any idea what the site may have been:? Im trying to trace more grandmothers aunt and I cant find anything beyond the 1911 census so am hoping this site may help.

Thanks

Michelle

did you buy credits through Genes and look up info that way.or was it Find my Past which is also pay to view, I dont know of any free sites for latest info that can be searched online.
Did you take Gold membership on Genes that would allow you to search for census etc without buying extra credits

Hi

Im trying to find the death of Emma Elizabeth Francis (nee Nott) She was born in 1888 and she died in Hammersmith (unknown date) but I cant find any records for it.

Michelle, have you even a rough idea? If she died after about 1920 or so and before 1984 it is unlikely her death is transcribed and this means looking at the entries year-by-year.

oh i see. yes it probably was somewhere in that period - probably around the 1950's although thats just a guess

Is it possible to find death entries via the internet for this time period?

Thanks

You can certainly find them on Ancestry, not sure about anywhere else. They do a 14-day free trial so this might be worth your while. I know they plan to transcribe all deaths at some point, can't come quick enough!
Best of luck.

Michelle, please don't be offended by this question, but are you searching as if they are transcribed or looking through the records quarter-by-quarter?

Deaths

Deaths 1837 – 1915 (transcribed by FreeBMD)

Deaths 1984 - 2005 (transcribed)

Death Indexes 1837 – 1983

Deaths are fully searchable by name and you will find individual matches in Deaths 1837 – 1915 and Deaths 1984 – 2005. However, for deaths between 1916 – 1983 you will need to use the Death Indexes.

Your search result will show the first and last result on the relevant page (image). Once you’ve opened the image you can then scroll down and look for your ancestor yourself on the page.

deaths on freebmd are actually almost all transcribed up to 1935

marriages but with a few more gaps to 1937 but with some up to 1949

births mainly complete up to 1936 but with some transcriptions up to 1941
