Thanks Ozi and Kathleen

I had a look at the workhouse site but couldn't determine where to go to find any records that may be available but given what you have replied it looks like I may have to write to the LMA to see if they can assist.

thanks for your help.

Kind regards

Hi

Looking for advice please - I think I may have located an ancestor who is shown to be based at one of these schools. Can anyone advise whether there is some way to actually access these records. Am in Australia so a personal visit to any Archives centre is out of the question.

This is the record I am interested in.

Name: Fredk. Best
Age: 6
Estimated birth year: abt 1875
Relation: Inmate
Gender: Male
Where born: St Mary Newington, Surrey, England

Civil parish: Hanwell
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England

Street Address: "Central London Dist School"
Education:

Employment status:

View image
Occupation: Scholar

Registration district: Brentford
Sub-registration district: Acton
ED, institution, or vessel: Central London District School

Any suggestions most welcome. I did google the school but LMA don't have anything accessible on line (that I could locate).

Many thanks

Carol
