You get a different screen depending on when the death was registered.

I believe (someone can correct if this is wrong) that trom1984 you have to enter the MONTH of registration in the format mm/yyyy i/e/ 10/1999

Prior to then you select the QUARTER of registration from a drop down list.

Are you ticking yes to the question of GRO ref known. I ordered a copy of my mums death cert of 1980 with no problem just by giving the GRO ref where asked

You will need full date of death and age, if its under 50 years

Well, if it does say mm/yy - have you put 05/86?

Hi Trying to order death certificate and will not accept date,May 1986 !!!
This keeps coming up.

Form Errors
Reg (Month and year of registration) must be in the format mm/yy
Any ideas please.
