I assume it just gives the name and not husband/wife/son/daughter of etc?

Thanks for that Kath. I have been down this road before with another rellie and as it happened in Liverpool and i am in Essex, I asked the RO in Lancashire to look up for a newspaper report of the incident. Unfortunately, the press gave just the info that the death cert had given.

I have been looking through my other records and the address on the cert. is not one that ties up with anything.

For the coroner to be the informant there was probably an inquest because it was either a sudden unexpected death or a suspicious death.

You may find that there was a report of the inquest in the local newspaper at the time and you could possibly find back copies of the newspapers on microfilm at the nearest reference library to where the death took place. This may give names of next of kin or other relatives. Some libraries have email addresses and will do look-ups for you

I have just received a death cert but find that the part that says......"Signature, description and residence of informant" is in fact the Liverpool coroners report.

When I sent for the cert the name was right, the age was right and the place was right and I was hoping that the informant would have been "right". Is there any way I can check this death cert. is realy mine.
