FANTASTIC NEWS

I found a random John Ellithorne on Facebook. There was a photo of him, and he looked about the right age. I sent a message. He has just got back to me about 15 minutes ago. He is the right John Ellithorne!!!!!!!

I am changing the title of the thread to TRY FACEBOOK, if I know how to do it.

Thanks Margaret.

Be careful, as FMP is very strict on allowing people to look things up for others, but I am not sure that you haven't just paid 10 credits to look up my fella. The FMP site for Living Relatives says:

To search living relatives you will be charged 10 credits for each search. Living relatives searches are not part of a subscription so you will need to purchase credits to use this search.

Just tried 192 and the £17 is for just 5 credits, i.e. 5 look-ups, so pretty pricey. I have found a John F Ellithorne in Harrogate but only in 2002. No idea if it is the right fella as he was born in Manchester.

I am getting more confused. I contacted 192.com and they have now offered me a package costing £17, called "extended archive access", so I have gone for that, and they are refunding the excess. Not tried it yet and they haven't told me what it covers, other than electoral roll access.

Margaret in Sussex, I do indeed have FMP sub, Full Explorer, which I thought covered everything, so I have just looked at living relatives and it is asking me to buy credits.

So yes please, pm the address, and thanks.

Just searched for John F Ellithorne b Dec 1930 to see if he was on the electoral roll. The site invited me to subscribe to 5 credits for about £7 or 100 credits for £35 plus good old VAT. I decided on the latter as I have other people to search for. Signed up and Bingo. I go to the record for John F Ellithorne only to find that I need some superior membership to view it which costs about £150. Well, he ain't worth that amount.

Do I have grounds for complaint and the demand of my money back?

Margaret
