Hi Chris

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will let my ancestry subscription lapse, as you suggest, amd possibly try to take advantage of Quidco.

Best wishes

Hi Suzy,

I've tried both but find Ancestry better. I have subscribed to FMP for the 1911 census but search the official site first as their search engine seems to be better. If you subscribe to Ancestry through Quidco I believe there is 25% cashback but you may have to let your present subscription lapse to take advantage of that, you would need to check that out.

Shirley,

Thanks for that. I've also found Ancestry a good site, but I need to look at British deaths overseas and emigration passenger records in detail, plus the 1911 site and, as you say, that costs an arm and a leg!

Regards

WELL having had subs to both I do find Ancestry the better site, For my research i have found more info on Ancestry than Find my Past although the 1911 census has cost me an arm and a leg in units !!

My sub to Ancestry renews in a few days but I am considering cancelling and taking Findmypast full 6 month sub instead. It's more expensive but their records seem to better suit my research now and Ancestry have not offered discount! I've not used FMP to a huge extent previously. Any suggestions as to which might be the better site/deal?
Many thanks.
