TIP - check date of thread

Lots of people kindly reply to posts which are years old. Make sure you check the date in the original posting, and if it is more than a few weeks old try sending a message to the person by clicking on their name. They will not know you have posted unless they check, as they are not notified by Genes.

Sensible advice Jan, I have fallen into the trap many times.

Just to clarify, if you send a message by clicking on their name, the is a Personal Message (known as a PM) and Genes will send them an email to say they have a message. Of course, their email address might be out of date or they might not check emails very often.
