Christine,
There's a family tree about Charles Ladd , he had 10 children.
The family tree is " lesleyhandscombe" on ancestry site .
Hope this is of some help.

I found entries for my family on Familysearch (IGI) where several sisters from the same family were baptised at the same time, and it was noted in the entries that they were adult baptisms.

Some Church records do show the dob as well as the christening, no idea why they all don't show it?

Mick in the Sticks

Mick in the Sticks Report 13 Dec 2009 10:58

Don't forget that church registers only record the date an individual was christened, not when or where they were born. Although most children would have been christened soon after their birth in the local church, it's not unusual to find numbers of children from the same family being christened together. Very frequently, Christmas Day was chosen for a christening as this was the only day of the year that parents got off from work.

I have one member in my tree who was christened 13 years after his birth. It was fortunate that the vicar made a comment on this in the parish register as this helped me resolve an individual as being part of a family who I had originally dismissed as dates of birth/christening didn't appear to match.

Can someone please tell me where to go to find records dating back to pre 1819 on the net. My ggggrandparents were married at St John's Church Margate.I got their details from church records but cannot find them on any other records. As their names were Ann Smith and Charles Ladd m 22/02/1819 I have had trouble finding anything about their past where they were born etc.
There was a St John's church site a while ago but it has now dissapeared?
Have tried everything I can think of so hopefully there is someone out there that can help?
Here's hoping everything is crossed
