Rhiannon Report 22 Dec 2009 18:10

I did a search on my great-great Grandfather on the London Gazette website archives and found out that he filed a petition for bankruptcy in the 1930s. We know that he was previously headmaster of a local village school. Does anyone know if there is any way to find out any more information ie. why he was made bankrupt?

Thanks

There may be something in the local paper. Also have a look at the National Archives Research Guide to Bankruptcy
