Thanks Choccy but think it is really unlikely as the family are in the Walsall area for all the census and all the children were born in Walsall too. funds are tight at the moment so cant afford to send for any certs unless I'm sure it's the right one :(

Have you considered the 1884 marriage registered in Dudley between Thomas White and (POSSIBLY) Sarah Jane Mansell?
There is an 1866 birth for Sarah Mansell also registered in Dudley and it is only about 6 miles from Dudley to Darlaston.
