Firstly can i wish you all a happy new year,

have recently found out an ancestor of my hubbys emigrated to Usa in 1880 have found a fair bit of info for myself but still have a few brick walls, the info is as follows:

Peter christmas evans b 25 dec 1854 married Louisa Kent B 1823
they had 4 sons :
Charles s evans B 1872
Edwin herbert evans B 1880
George h evans b 1884
Reynold s evans b1891

ive got peters death records 23 feb 1947 in LA but no death record for his wife louisa,

the only line ive been following at the moment is edwins
he married Alice marshall b1885 in Indianapolis have no marriage records.
they had 4 children and settled in Arizona

Joan and marshall kent evans b 8 july 1913 - twins
have no birth records for them

Harriet jessie evans b1916 pima Arizona have birth and death records for her but not her marriage/divorce
her spouse on her death cert is Russell Hamilton

Alice Elizabeth Evans b1928 pima arizona , found her death record this morning in an arizona newspaper but couldnt access the full article her married name is Lundquist but have not found marriage records for her yet she died in 2004 so ive hit a brickwall now.

I have Alice marshall evans death records she died in 1936 of a self inflicted gunshot wound also injuring her daughter harriet but she survived.
Marshall kent evans died in 1954 and is buried in Ft rosecrans national cemetary which is a military one,

i found his enlistment records he joined 23 sept 1940 it states he had no spouse at that time but may have married later on.

Hope someone may be able to unravel some of this, American record searching is a new thing to me and not having a clue where to look has proven difficult, i even looked on the white pages to see if i could find a living relative of alice elizabeth Lundquist nee evans but as i dont have a spouses first name i didnt get anywhere.

many many thanks kaz x

Karen, am I reading it right? You say Louisa Evans, nee Kent, was born 1823 and was still giving birth in 1891, at age 68?

Is the date for Charles correct? The marriage wasn't until 1879:

Marriages Sep 1879
EVANS Peter Christmas W. Derby 8b 861
KENT Louisa W. Derby 8b 861

Rose's findings look correct, making Louisa born 1856 but no child before 1880.

Have been wondering about the birth dates myself, i was wondering if they made them up so they wouldnt be sent back to england maybe?
on the census charles was born 1872 in new york but they didnt get there until 1880.
Peter christmas evans was born in wales his brother samuel is the line my hubbys mum is from.
their parents were peter evans and rebecca williams married 29th april 1845 in birkenhead.

oops i think i was having a new yr moment Louisa was born in 1856,
her mother in law rebecca was born in 1823,
sorry for that mistake

1910 census
Onondaga, New York
Peter C. Evans, head, 44, born Dec. 1855, England
Louisa, wife, ??, born Feb. 1859?, England
Edwin H., son, 19, born Nov.1870, New York
Charles S., son, 17, born Jan.1872, New York

Just looked at Edwins date of birth on his death cert it states
he was born 12 nov 1880 in new york

so there was some fiddling about, maybe they lied in case they were sent back to england i havent searched his siblings yet as i wanted to get this line finished,
they moved a heck of a way as ,new york to arizona
