Have you searched the family trees on here? Top left of the page.

Although it tells you there are over 1000 people named Barry Richardson, if you then do 'amend search' and put in Sunderland as pob, only 2 tree owners have that match, one of whom is called Nicholas.

If you then click on his name, you can send him a personal message.

If he is still active and has left an up to date email address with GR, he will be notified that he has a message.

You can check at any time to see if he has read it by going to your own 'sent messages' box. If the envelope next to his name is white, he has. If it's still closed and purple, he hasn't.

Thank you so much for your reply , it now opens the possibiity of my finding information regarding Barry Richardson 'providing Nicholas Holden still uses Genes Reunited .
I did send a message quite some time back but didn't hear anything ,,
Maybe another member may know of Nicholas Holden and pass a message on - or perhaps another member beggining may have Barry Richardson in their tree.

You can always 'search trees' from your Barry Richardson at any time, and see if a new contact comes up, rather than wainting for Hot matches.

All GR does is provide you with a forum by which you MAY find members related to you ............. there is no onus on any member to actually share, if they do not wish to do so.


This site is often used by people just to build their tree .................... it has been recognised by a couple of places as having the best FREE tree building programme.

The fact that the gentleman's daughter does not wish to pass on information is a personal issue. She does not HAVE to tell you anything if she doesn't wish to - frustrating though that is.


Genes Reunited simply provide the possibility of contact.


Hopefully, another door will open for you soon. Cx

This man's daughter doubtless has very valid reasons for not wishing to discuss her father with you.

Building a tree on GR does not mean that one has to share personal info with a third party unless one so wishes.
