I have never had a subscription with them.
Have a look.

I just took a findmypast subscription last week, when the 15% off offer was available....it was just over £80.00 for access to everything on the site and 1911 census for 6 months, when you consider 1911 is £40.00 for 6 months on its own, I thought to get all the extra for another £40.00 was a pretty good deal.

It took a bit of getting used to, as i `ve only ever bought credits before, and like you Jean, used them up very quicky.... but all in all i`m quite impressed with it, they are bringing in a facility to save your searches and things later in the year, {presumably similar to Ancestrys Shoebox} which willl be usefull, as I don`t want to save everything to my computor and clog it all up. they also seem to update their parish records quite regularly, and think they`re joined with scotlandspeople now, so will have Scottish records available at some point.

Has anyone actually signed up for the 14 day trial? Does it include the 1911 census?

there are still parts you have to buy credits for , even on the free trial. 1911 is a separate entity, not included.
I'm just getting as much out of my family records before I tell them no thanks!

Hi Joan,
sorry to hear that , I should contact them if I were you.

Nickydownsouth,

If they are joining Scotland's People that would be great as most of my rellies are from Scotland.

Heres the section about the new records coming to findmypast in 2010, which i received by email yesterday....

We will be significantly expanding our military records, including launching online for the first time anywhere Chelsea Pensioner service records and militia attestation papers (detailed military registration service records, containing personal details and physical descriptions). These are being provided in association with The National Archives.
Our BMDs section will be overhauled and improved, including the addition of greatly enhanced maritime records.
Irish and Scottish records will be arriving soon, establishing findmypast.co.uk as the primary family history site for the entire UK. And we’re continuing to add even more specialist records to enable you to approach your research from all angles, including more parish records, our forthcoming London probate indexes and our new Merchant Seamen registers.
We will be adding more navigation and useability improvements to the site, including improved search screens and results pages, cross census search and saved records.
We have new video tutorials on the way, showcasing our site redesign and helping you to get the most from your research.

Joan, I would definetly get in touch with them...I get regular emails sometimes weekly always urging me to join...which of course I now have, and the 15% offer was available for about a fortnight, maybe longer...there was a thread on here about it, its a pity you didn`t see it. As a member i also now qualify for 20% discount on renewal...quite a good deal I think.
