Trying to find mayes suffolk

Iam trying to find the parents of a Henry john mayes, born 1877 in suffolk it says battesden, but think its a incorrect spelling of rattlesden, i find him on the 1901, census but carnt locate him on any eailer ones, there are lots of mayes in suffolk but no luck with this ones parents....any ideas

sorry dont know in the 1901 census, he is married, but like i say carnt find him on any eailer ones,so dont know what siblings he would have ,.... thanks for your reply
