If it won't let you delete the name in the box, put the cursor at the end of the name and use the arrow (above the enter key) to delete it backwards, letter by letter.

sorted I think. I had to open up the whole tree before it would let me search. Thanks for your help, perseverance paid off.

I can't clear the search space to put in the name I want to search for. It is only recently this has happened I have searched before.

I've used it in last half hour or so without any problem. Are you clicking on the bit that asks to search "this tree"?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Jan 2010 21:20

My problem was, I tried to delete the name there and it wouldn't. Delete I mean. I will go back and try again and report back.

When you open your tree the name of the home person will appear in the top bar.Click on any other person on the page and the name in the top bar will change.
Now delete that name and replace with the name you want don't forget to delete the date.

I am sure you used to be able to input a name into search on your own tree to find an ancestor on there. I don't seem to be able to do this now. Am I doing something wrong or doesn't that facility exist any more?
