can anyone tell me how to order a certificate without the exact date?. I have the names,district and year.

if you are doing it on line from GRO you dont need the exact date just the ref number

if going in person to register office I just put the quarter the event was in

Joseph it is best if you have the Year, Quarter, Volume and Page number.

If you tell us who you are looking for we may be able to find it for you then you will be able to order.

I have the names,quater,etc but when i went online it asked for an exact date.
This is the information i have.

Are you using the GRO site to order it?

That will ask if you have the GRO ref number

which you do

(Volume and page numbers)

You need to tick the box to say you have the ref. It is near the bottom of the first page and easy to miss.

I have just tried with the details above and it has accepted them ok without requiring the date.

Cost is £7.
