Hi all
This is going to sound daft, but do they put on the death certs, A
list all marriages, Of the person who as died.

And another Question Did Peaple often lie on Marriage Licences!!

England and Wales death certs don't show spouses of the deceased person. However, I have one from 1917, where under occupation of the dead person they have helpfully written widow of and spouses name, but I don't think this is usual.

Also remember that the info on a death cert is only as accurate as the knowledge of the informant, nothing needs to be proved.

In answer to your other question quite common to fib! About ages, fathers names etc etc to save face or e.g. for a bride to look younger than her husband rather than older.

Hi All
This is for Bob who tried to tell me on the tryng to find board. YOU where right I got it wrong, Will listen to the freinds out there who have been doing it a lot longer than me who is still a novis and crap speller
