The help section says click on ‘edit tools’ & then select ‘change parents’ from drop down menu but I’m not getting that option. I’m just getting the choice of copy, paste, clipboard or delete relation. Can someone advise me please.

Thanks

Thanks Sandra, but I've tried that and it won't work. The 'change parents' box won't even highlight.

You need to have more than two potential parents entered.
Eg father with two wives or mother with two husbands.

Thank you for your continued advice. I did have two father's entered but even when I deleted one I could not get the 'change parents' box to work. As suggested,I shall send GR a message.

If you have already deleted one of the two fathers then you wont be able to access the option.

As stated, the box only appears when you have more than one alternative parent to choose between. i.e. one mother with two fathers. It allows you to move the child from one father to another, retaining the same mother.

If you are trying to move the child to a completely different set of parents altogether, then I'm afraid you can't do this on the GR tree.
