Can anyone tell me how you can tell if someone has had a previous thread on a subject, or do you have to scroll pages & pages & pages back!

Cheers

I think most duplicate posts are posted around the same time, but on different boards........most of the helpers on here move between Records Office, Tips and Trying to find on a regular basis, so will quickly spot a duplicate post.

I think the posters are often under the impression that people stick to 1 board, so they think by putting it on more than 1 board they will get more help, when in fact it often means the helpers spend an awful lot of time seeking out information, that may already have been found on the other request.

Very annoying!!

Hi Nicky,

Thanks, I just thought when I read all these messages about duplicate posts, how people can tell that they are! I thought there must be some simple way that I had missed or something!

Cheers

Also find duplicates on History and Surname boards.

Yes I check all boards but you can do an advanced search, using surname etc, and will show up any duplicates
