For a long time I thought I had Lydia Mary Richards nee Turner sorted out but when I had a look at a birth certificate that was obtained in 1949 for my Grandfather for his National Insurance, I discovered that his mother's maiden name was Evans. I first started out looking for Lydia Mary Evans but took a wrong turn about 18 months ago so now back looking for Lydia Mary Evans. I am awaiting the arrival of a marriage certificate for Lydia Evans and Thomas Richards, the only one that I could find that fits in the time frame ws in 1862 in Brecknock, Breconshire, Powys 11b, p251.
In 1871 Lydia and Thomas are on together on the census and Lydia gives her birth place as Whitchurch and Thomas as Eglwysilan.
Having to rewrite the tree but that has happened before. I know that there was a Lydia Evans living at Walnut bridge and that her father was a Blacksmith and also ran a small public house from his home. I had hoped that there might be someone out there that might have some hidden information about Lydia Mary Evans? I saw from Thomas Richards b1884 birth certificate that the mother's maiden name was formally Evans and wondered if she had been married before?

Have you found her birth? Or marriage? Can't see a Lydia Mary but Cardiff covers Whitchurch:
