Does anyone know if I could find a list of publicans in Middlesex in the 1840s/50s? Did publicans need to be licensed in those days? Tried the trade directories but with no luck (am looking for a John Baker who, if alive, was a publican on his daughter's 1850 marriage certificate). Thanks in advance
