Thank you for your reply. My grandfather was baptised on the 25.11.1838.
The only information I have is as follows:

Name: Peter Creggan (odd spelling of Surname)
Address: Dromara
Parish/District: Newry
Denomination: Catholic
Father: Henry Creggan
Mother Mary McCreevy
Sponsor 1: Daniel Korry

They first appeared on the 1851 Census for Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland, and the family lived in various partsof Newcastle,
and Byker did play a big part in their lives, I will look into that tomorrow and let you know which members of the family lived in Byker and when. They also lived in St. Anthonys, and Elswick.

Hilda..Where was your g.g.grandfather Baptised...What was his name and when did the family move to Byker...

My Grandparents , as far as I can tell, lived in the Dromara area and came to England prior to 1851 and lived in Heddon in Durham and Byker/Walker areas of Newcastle upon Tyne. My gt, gt grandfather was baptised in 1838 (his birth year) and I have a copt of the certificate, but it gives no indication as to where the family lived. Head was Henry (1805) wife Mary (1806) daughter Mary 1836, son Peter 1838 and Thomas 1840. Can anyone help please.
