lost great aunt

thank you everyone for your help, i prob did know the answer deep down but she was a kind and quite wealthy person when i was a child and i just thought WHATS HAPPENED HERE for her to end her days like this. thanks again mgt

If you get her death certificate, you will find out the cause of her death




and, as Margaret says, you have probably answered your own question.


If she became too sick to care for herself, and there was no other family alive or able to care for her, then she would have had to go into a care home.


That probably took all the money that she might have had, and thus DSS would have had to pay for her funeral. And there would ahve no-one to pay for the gravestone

hi there, just wondered how she came to end her days in a care home ,because i thought it very sad,and why she had to have her grave paid for by the DSS . All her immediate family had died and her grave was unmarked.

can anyone suggest where to find information from re a great great aunt who died in a care home in 1978.the care home is now been demolished. manchester.gov.uk. have been very good but cannot find any information many thanks mgt
