Hi Linda

If you would like a *fresh pair of eyes* to help with looking in the indexes, just send me a pm with as much info as you have about your cousin and I will happily do some searching for you.

Send it by pm though, don't put it on the board here as he is still living.

Have you looked under his mothers maiden ,could he have been born prior to their marriage?

Are you looking at later records of marriage and not those that are free?

Hi Gwyn,
He married in the Hastings area.

Hi,
I have checked all christian names as I have already found people registered differently to names they are known as.

All of my cousins are of the same age group and therefore just as unlikely to have any info. about this plus I wouldn't raise the question with them in case of opening a can of worms. All our parents have already died so can't ask there. Yes I do know he is married and that he also has at least one child.

Is there any records that would be available to view? I suspect not because of the privacy laws.

Could your cousin have been born / married overseas...eg in a Service family.?

Yes it's entirely possible that he was adopted but think carefully - if he was, then does he know?
If not, are you going to be the one to tell him?
Are you in touch with him - do you know for a fact that he is married?
Possible whole can of worms here - please be careful

My Aunt and Uncle who I have verified their births and their marriage have now died. They had a son (my cousin) but I have been unable to find a birth or marriage for him. Is it possible he was adopted but even if he was wouldn't he have got married in his adoptive name?
