Hi PigletsPal
What we are trying to find out is people who lived at the address my husbands mother was born at .(The address that is on her birth certificate).the address was Newbiggin By The Sea
As her parents both belong Gateshead, so we were wondering if they were visiting relatives the time my husbands mother was born so that is why the 1924 electoral might be helpful in finding out who?

At the time in question, 1924, men over 21 and women over 31 were eligible to vote.

I'm not sure if the local library holds archives that far back, but if not, they should be able to tell you where to find them.

there were no electoral rolls taken during WW2

SORRY - just realised dyslexia has struck and you asked for 1924 not 1942 !!!!!

If you contact the library local to the area, they may hold copies - or be able to tell you where the records are kept. Some places will do a look up for you, some charge and some don't.
