I have a a birth of Jonathon Wall 1775 born in Wedmore, Somerset.. His marriage is given as February 1789 in Wedmore. This makes him 14 years pof age at marriage. Is this possible?
Beverley.

I believe, at that time boys could marry at age 14, girls at 12.

is the birth definitely a birth and not a baptism

sometimes children were baptised later, families sometimes took several children at once (a job lot so to speak), and ages could vary, I've seen up to about 6 children all baptised on same day so oldest one was 9 I think
