could it be a mistranslation?

could my rellies that ive been researching have different surname.Ive been tracing the Luvate`s but only as far as 1799 a Dominic Luvate born como italy,so could it be a different surname in italian........

Before people start searching for stuff you already have, I think you should make it clearer that you have researched quite comprehensively back to Dominic. I remember helping you on a couple of threads.

Can't help you with Italian for Luvate. I would suspect it has a similar sound.

Also Italy was on the verge of being unified in 1799. Napoleon did that in 1800 so I can imagine 1799 was a time of chaos. You may have difficulty finding anything. This site gives you a good overview:

Update: just done some googling and Italian names like Labate, L'Abbate, La Bate seem to pop up.
