Glad to be of some help.

Here are a couple of links which give other cemerteries in New Zeland, most searchable.

Thank you for the cemetery link.

Just found someone for my friend's research.

Battenburg Report 15 Feb 2010 00:26

Perhaps he had a medical condition and generously wanted to leave his body to the research team.
I know of someone who suffered from Parkinsons and she donated her body to the Parkinson society for research

Peterkinz

Peterkinz Report 15 Feb 2010 00:15

Looks as though he may have left his body to the medical school for research - hence the delayed cremation

Dear Lynn
You are a star.
The funny thing is I have paid $20 NZ last monday and still waiting for the certificate.
I asked them to send it to my cousin in Auckland and uptil now havent heard from them or my cousin/ And then JOhn would have emailed it.
What I cant understand why the cremation was nearly 18 months later in 1966 when he died in 1964?
Thank you
I may phone them tonight to ask how they are getting on with it.
Regards
Carol

Sorry I didn't see your thankyou Nightowl.

I can usually find the actual date of death providing they were born over 80 years ago. It is a funny system - but I manage to play around in it and come up with the full date. Can do that on births of 100 years ago and marriages of 80 years ago eg todays date 1930 - and then with marriages I can get the year upto 1956. Otherwise I would have to venture into the library all the time and look up their microfiche.
One of these days they might give up trying to be away too secretive with their information.

I can manage some of the cemeteries on line as well - but some don't have much information at all.

HI
I must apologise for not staying on or coming back sooner to see my replies and the reason for this was my computer died on me just turned itself off. After a lot of testing and the purchase of another keyboard its sorted.
Back to my replies.of which I do really appreciate and they have been really significant
I found Alberts passage to New Zealand on Find my past in 1956 from London to Wellington. It also revealed his birthdate of 3 Jan 1888, but it didnt reveal where..
Persey thanks you for that fantastic piece of info how did you manage that?
When I was in New Zealand in 2007 a friend found me a website for Burials but for the life of me I cant find it.
I dont think it was Interment.co.
I just put the rellie in and
it came up with the death where he was buried and even what he did for a living.
Ill keep digging and ill update you when find this elusive man's family.
Regards xx

Albert died 12th June 1964.

The death certificate should give you place of death, where born, age spouses name and ages of children.

This information is only as reliable as the person who gives the information to the registrar.

My granfather's death certificate has an incorrect middle name for his wife - all because his brother wasn't thinking straight and gave his second wifes middle name.

Cheers

I will get you his date of death - but will take me awhile as our BMD information doesn't give this information readily.
Then you could order a certificate - though they would probably have no problem if you ordered one based on year of death.
My death certificate of my Great Grandfather who died here has his birthplace - but it does not have his birth date - but then I already had that information and it was readily available from London Records.

I shall return

Battenburg Report 5 Feb 2010 07:22

The cert in 2007 gives date of birth, how old at death and occupation.Where the person was born.If not in NZ then how long lived in the country.
Unfortunately although I told the director where my husband was born he only put the county. I think that was an oversight because he put where I was born

It gives wifes name including maiden name and where she was born ,how old the deceased was at marriage.

Age of each son and daughter but not the names
Names of the deceased parents including mothers maiden name. It gives the place of burial or cremation

Of course I knew all the details but if those things were not known then Im not sure how much information you will get.

I have never seen a death cert around 1964 so Im hoping someone else can help for that time frame.
Also would you be able to order the death cert without knowing the day he died not just the year?

If there is anybody in new Zealand that can tell me what info besides the obvious date of death and what the person died of.on a death certificate
The reason I ask is that we have a marriage cert in 1920 in Brimingham for a Albert John Coley and Elizabeth Forster.
It says he was 29 years old , birth about 1890/91.
It says his father John was deceased and he was a deputy commissioner in the Cape mounted police. We are assuming rightly or wrongly that this is in South Africa.
We cannot find a birth cert for Albert John in England.
BUt he emigrated to New Zealand in 1956 and died in 1964.
We have now found the record of his death there.
We wondered if it would show us his date of birth and possibly where he was born as he was an immigrant, It just says he was 77 yrs old on the record transcript.
Various information differs from country to country.
We are stuck until we know where he was born.
Thanks.
