removing members from my tree

The criteria is that there is only a single link to another part of your tree.

You can delete a name from your tree if it is at the top or the bottom or has no other branches attached to it. For example, you can remove or delete the child of a relation. However, if you have added the wrong father, you would need to remove any children first before deleting him.

I think you have to take off everyone descended from them and work backwards doing it.

Unfortunately went down the wrong line of research and put people on my tree who should not be there! How do I take them off? Can anyone help please.
