Company Records Mid 1800s

I'm trying to locate company information such as incorporation records, shareholder's records, minutes etc for Robert Thorne and Sons who were Whisky distillers in Renfrewshire, Scotland. I believe that they started trading in around 1831 but were later incorporated.

Does anyone know where I could look for such records?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Try also National Archives for Scotland site (nas.gov.uk). A search there indicates they hold something for Robert Thorne & Sons (Greenock) Ltd - Date of Incorporation 1933 (ref BT2/17636).

To everyone who has answered, thanks for your help. Unfortunately these records all deal with the company in the 1930s and don't seem to have any really early stuff. Oh well - I'll continue hunting.

Once again thanks,

James
