can somebody please look up my parent marriage for me.

You will have to look under the grooms name phillip edward Robinson the marrige took place in Whittlesey Cambridgeshire probably october 1963. Not sure what the brides name will be as my mother was born Joan Wintrip but later was Called Margaretha Joan Wintrip Sheard by her step father but i dont think there was ever any formal adoption/name change.

I need this information as my mother is now very ill and we need to apply for power of attorney but i suspect we are going to run into difficulty as her birth certificate gives a totally different name to the one she has been known by

yes thats her. Just wasnt sure what name she used on her marriage cert it was not a subject she ever really spoke I knew about her illegitimate birth and her mothers subsequent marriage etc but not if there had ever been any legal name change etc

It may just be that when her mum married she took her step dads name with no formal adoption .her birth cert doesnt indicate she was adopted so its more than likely it was informal
I think if you produce all the certs ie her birth ,her mums marriage ,and her marriage it may all be accepted for the power of attorney. i guess you are employing a solicitor to deal with it.
