The Old Bailey (assuming it was in England) has online records until 1919.

Thanks Oz I have googled is name and the person they said he murdered. I will google the prison and see what comes up.

Google court records for the county it happened, or google his name+murder.

There's sure to be a big write up in the local papers.

In 1876 my ggggreat uncle was charged with murder but was aquitted. How can I get hold of the records for this.
