why so many at one address ???

thanks so much for your help i was struggling to make it all out. peter and thomas langley were brothers who came from a family of glass blowers and it seemed they moved around quite abit before settling in st helens lancashire.

If you look at the census page you will also see that there are single line dashes separating each family unit (in most cases only one person where the lodgers are concerned) A double line dash then denotes the end of the address.

You can not confirm conclusively from just looking at the census page that Peter and Thomas are related.

James Wood is listed as an innkeeper of the White Bear - the Woods are his family, Mare Dunn and Davis Johnson are servants, George Foxcroft is his nephew and I would imagine the rest are lodgers at the inn.
