Who did she marry? Have you looked for her on a census?

One of these will give you Elizabeth's maiden name:

Births Mar 1876
BANNAN James W. Derby 8b 525

Births Sep 1878
Banahan Mary W. Derby 8b 504

lancashireAnn Report 13 Aug 2012 13:32

there appears to be a variety of maiden name spelling to choose from!

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1878
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference
BANAHAN Mary Great Crosby South Sefton HALLIGAN C/14/42
BANAHAN Mary Great Crosby South Sefton HELPEN C/14/42

(same ref no so presumably the same person)

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1875
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Mother's Maiden Name Reference
BANNAN James Great Crosby South Sefton MALLIGAN C/12/340

I am even mopre confused now Erin!

looking at the image for the 1881 census I would guess the name could be Branhan - th 'M' does not look like the other capital M's on the page

but if that is the right one Peter was born in 1836/47 (not 1841) and Elizabeth in 1849/50 not 1846????
