The electoral rolls for the states of Victoria and Queensland now are held until the 1950's.

I live in Australia and there is a lot of useful information on Ancestry, including cememtery lists etc for rural areas.

I wish Ancestry asn't so pricey otherwise I would take out a premium subscription also!

The Australian electoral rolls on Ancestry are invaluable if you have rellies in Aus during the early 20th century. There are no censuses for Aus so the electoral rolls are a useful substitute. The rolls on Ancestry cover every state except South Australia.

Apparently Australian BMD's are also coming to Ancestry sometime this year...

The down underers are probably getting ready for bed about now. If you alter your thread title to include Australia & US/Canada, and nudge it up this evening, it would attract theirr attention.

As I've said, I can't really comment about Australian/NZ records.

Have you seen this?

Tonyoz has a thread on ‘Tips’ which might be of help

Hi DET,

Someone very kindly found a passport application for me for one of them but the dates were too early for passenger lists. Unfortunately I'm not too sure of exactly where they ended up. I know one couple started in Melbourne and then went to NZ. I really appreciate the look ups that have been done for me and don't want to take advantage so would like to search myself. I just don't want to spend the extra money if alot of members feel it's not worth the extra for the records that are available.

One of my branches went out to the US in 1842, so basically from that point of view, yes.

Before I took the plunge, I was able to purchase additional credits for a 5 day viewing, or possible for a certain number of records. Is that option still available?

I don't have Australian/NZ connections, so can't comment about those. The US records are better than the Canadian ones.

There are far too many US/Canada records to copy and paste.

Basically there are Canada to US border crossings, a mirriade of incoming (to them) passenger lists.

US census 1890/1900/1910/1930
SS death index

Various Canadian census - it does depend what and when and where you want information.

If you find something and want a closer look, people who do have full WW membership would be only too happy to view for you. Even better if you do a copy and paste of your search results.

Hi DET,

Thanks for your reply. Do you have access to Worldwide, if so would you recommend it.

I am after some advise please.

I am considering upgrading to Worldwide subscription from Premium and wonder whether it would be worth it. I have ancestors who went to Canada and then America around 1910 and others went to Australia and New Zealand in the late 1850's early 1860's and want to know if I will be able to access relevant records if I upgrade.

I am not too sure what records are available and hope someone can tell me.
