name change by deed poll

i have 2 relatives and their families who have changed their surnames by deed poll. how do i display this name change in my family tree.
their names currently are the name at birth. i have put the change into notes.
any suggestions?

Researching:
McGeorge, Smiles, Brewerton- Sunderland. Rycroft, Smith-Yorkshire. Lumsden, Prentice - Scotland. Ellis, Jeffries, Short - NZ.

That's about the best you can do on the GR Tree. Same applies to spelling or other variations.

If you use a program such as FTM, you can enter as many alternative names as you wish. One of these is then selected to the the 'preferred' name and appears as the default name in reports, charts etc.
