Wrong birth certificate

Hi all, I ordered a birth certificate but found it wasn't my relative. Is it worth "advertising" it on GR in case anyone wants to buy it off me if it helps in their research? If so, which section of the Community Board should I put it on? Thanks.

Try putting the details on BDMshare.com - you can put all your certificate details on there anyway and say which ones you are willing to pass on/sell as you do not need them.

You could add a 'postem' on FreeBMD which may help someone else who is researching the same family.

Great, thanks very much for those ideas.

Hi PP, yes I see what you mean, but in this case I'm fairly sure I won't order it again as it was a surprise to find this "extra child" of a particular family anyway. Now I know he just had parents with the same surnames by coincidence. However, I'll offer to pass it on for free in the hope that it helps someone in their research.
