You can actually get all members of the household even those with a different surname. You need to be on the FindMyPast site not the other 1911 site.

So for instance I want to find out who is in the same household as my Amelia McNab in Weymouth:

Go to advanced search

Leave ALL fields blank EXCEPT;

Registration district - put Weymouth

Other person in household - put Amelia McNab

This list comes up:

ct County Household

Household MCNAB, Francis 1906 5 M Weymouth Dorsetshire VIEW VIEW
Household MCNAB, Harold 1904 7 M Weymouth Dorsetshire VIEW VIEW
Household MCNAB, Herbert 1902 9 M Weymouth Dorsetshire VIEW VIEW

Household MCNAB, Joseph 1899 12 M Weymouth Dorsetshire VIEW VIEW
Household MCNAB, Nellie 1901 10 F Weymouth Dorsetshire VIEW VIEW
Household WRIGHT, Edith 1845 66 F Weymouth Dorsetshire

It works for other Census' on FMP too.

Julie

EDIT It's best if you have an unusualish name or someone with a middle name to search on otherwise it might bring up more than one household.

I don't know what a census number is either - whatever it is you don't need it!
Enjoy your cuppa.

Christine, I have nudged Jonesey's thread - here on Tips Board.
In short, when you have a name and location go back to main page and clear everything. Use advanced search.
Now put in this:
surname
location (as you have already found)
name of the person you have found in section "other members of the household"

Hi Christine,

Jonesey tip for doing that is brilliant. Just replace your thread number with 1160992 and it will take you straight to it.
