Hi, I have been advised to try CCleaner because my computer is running very slowly. I have duly downloaded this and set it running but it seems to have been running for hours!! Is this normal? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Cx.

yes, how long have you had your comp.
Do not stop it until it's finished !

Hi Lindsey, I've had my computer about 15 months now. I have had to go out but left it on - so I just sit tight then?

A lot of these programs give you the jitters cos they say you have lots that need cleaning up , will do a basic search amd them want money to download their product.
I find doing the basic disk cleaner and defrag will speed up your PC Plus if you have a decent Anti Virus this will catch any problems before they attach themselves to your PC .I have the latest Norton and it will scan and remove any tracing cookies

Hi Lindsey, would you believe that as soon as I went back and checked it (I'm on my daughter's computer now), it had finished - isn't that just typical?

It all seems okay so thank you for the reassurance. Regards. Cx.

Hello friend Frank. There was a percentage bar but nothing was showing, just the whirly circle and that was on for hours. I have had a look at the hard drive and it is now just half full as opposed to being almost full last night. I still seem a bit slow (no comment) but have also spoken to my ISP folk who say that there has been a problem at the exchange. We will wait and see!!

Hopefully, normal service will be resumed soon. Thanks all.

Sounds rather odd..

I have used CCleaner for a number of years now, current version takes approx 3 minutes to run.

Hi. Do you think it could be because it was the first time I had used it? Cx.

Thank you kind sir! I have just seen your message and done as you suggested. The cleaner shot through at a great rate of knots but, on checking my hard drive, it is still at least half full. Ummmmm. Anyway, the speed seems a little better at the moment so I will make the most of it.

ps. Haven't watched Coronation Street since Ena Sharples and her crowd passed on!! They don't make 'em like they used to!

Many thanks again :)) Cx.

Meet up at home base.

ps. I remember Muffin the Mule too!

Is Muffin the Mule a criminal offence?

The reason I ask is that I have photo of me sitting on Muffin outside Santa's Grotto in Leeds, circa 1954.
