In 1841, off in the margin you'll see the PRO's copyright slip - on it are stamped some #s, e.g., HO107/846/5. Up in the top right of the right hand page, there's a large folio # stamped, e.g., 6. Lastly in the centre top of each page there's a page # printed - e.g., 6 for the right hand page here.
So the identifyier for the RH page is HO107/846/5/6/6. The identifier for the following page is HO107/846/5/6/7, and for the preceeding page is HO107/846/5/5/5. The folio # increases only on every other page.

Now on Ancestry, if I do an advanced "old search" style search, I can look up the names showing on HO107/846/5/6/7. If I don't have a sub, I can't see many of their details, nor view the census image, but the 25 names on the page show up, and I can look these names up on GR, assuming they're transcribed the same. For Ancestry, this is a non-trivial assumption - my gg gran Sarah Thirlaway is on page 6, but the image spells her name as Thorlway, and Ancestry transcribes this as Shortway. However, there's 24 other names I can look up if I strike out on Sarah.

How can I find the next page in an 1841 census? I suspect my ancestor may be found in the latter stages of a list of children.
