Now this death can't be his father as he would be too young, so maybe a brother??

His WW1 papers are on Ancestry and it names his father;

Cornelious O'Rourke of 134 Larne (?) Street, Ancoats M/C.

Edwards children, Edward born 1895, Mary Ann 1901, Elizabeth 1906, Walter 1908 and Michael 1911.

And maybe his death;

Year Surname / Maiden Name Forename Mother's Surname Other Surnames Sex Age District City/County/MR GROS Data

1923 O'ROURKE EDWARD M 50 GREENOCK WEST /RENFREW 564/02 0092

Now I'm sure that this should give both his parents names.

Hi,

I'm not sure if the marriage to Mary Ann would help, but this is on Scotlands People;

No Year Surname (M) Forename (M) Surname (F) Forename (F) District City/County/MR GROS Data Image Extract
1 1894 O'ROURKE EDWARD HAGAN MARY ANN GREENOCK WEST /RENFREW

It will at least give his fathers name.

can anyone help me find Irish relatives who came from Cork. & migrated to England because of the potato famine. Are there Irish records available to search on genesreunited? Census searches have some family born in the south of England & some in Cork or Ireland. Surname of Atteridge.

They still do this. My Dads death cert in 1995 gives his place of birth as Irish Republic, even though his birth cert gives it as Dublin.
