Please can anyone tell me if it is possible to find who lived at an address in march/april/may 1940?
44 Cambridge Street, spondon, shardlow ,to be precise.

Any help at all will be welcome seeing as how I am in the deepest darkest West of Wales and unable to go to Derbyshire..
Thanks
viv

Blast..
Thats what I thought..
Were they done in 1939 do you know?

Maybe the same family would have been there then.

Hi FannyByGaslight
just a thought! see:
http://www.bygonederbyshire.co.uk/stories/WWII-Youngsters-line-street-party/article-1805912-detail/article.html

might be worth trying to contact Barry Clarence, I bet he would know who lived at 44
or post a comment on the story see if anyone else knows who lived there.

Did you try 1939? Couldn't see a directory for Derbyshire 1940 but I think there was one for 1939.

No I tried 1940+or- and all I keep getting is "you have not filled in required fields"
BUT I HAD.Grrrr
So I gave up,,no staying power me.

I am looking for the surname Shreeve.
No idea of what christian name it would be under.

Yes I also did some Grrrrrring. To search again you need to clear the form & then input all the info again. No joy though - just a Sarah Shreeve in Weston on Trent Chellaston.

Thank you for looking Julie.
I will have to wait and see if I get any answers from my emails and if not then my friend will just have to wait for their adoption papers to be able to try and get a bit further
But when you are 70 I guess it seems that time is running out.

I thought with a surname like that it may have been a bit easier to get somewhere, but trust me ,ITS NOT!
I have been trying everything I can think of and everything people suggest for daysssssssss.

I have just discovered that my paternal grandfather's sister, GERTRUDE EMMA LAMBERT of SPONDON married a SHREEVE.
Any connection?
