	I have the 1881 census for Mary Brearley born 1811 Green Moor Yorkshire. Below her name is her son William age 35 also born Green Moor. Ican't make out what it says about him in the 'condition as to Marriage' column, can any help?

	will take a look its ummarried the enumertor uses unmar for others on the same page probably cos the space is too small to write it in full

	I think it says "unmar", that is to say unmarrried - but I could be wrong! Jan

	Thanks for that. I think you are right. The eyes and brain arn't as sharp as they used to be
