Thankyou everyone. Hopefully I will now have an idea where I am looking to maybe find them. Its difficult with London ancestors as they could really be buried anywhere.
Sorry I did not reply before but my computer decided to turn itself off. Grrr

You may find the link below helpful. It leads to a map of Mile End Old Town whch is now part of Stepney. A further link from this page leads to a much more larger and enhanced map of the area. All the cemeteries and churchyards in the area are clearly marked on the map.

There IS, or was a cemetery close to mile end underground station, could THAT be the one?

Ah! according to me ancient London A-Z

that one IS called Tower Hamlets Cemetery, off Southern Grove, close to Bow Common Lane.

I have a few ancestors who died in Mile End Old Town in the early 1900s. Does anyone live near or in this area and know of a cemetery where they could be buried ?. I have googled Mile End Old Town but have not come up with an answer.
Thanks Elaine
