not a clue about the jargon!!

there are loads of William Baker's in India on this free site but none for the right date

That's brilliant, thanks a lot. I think the Sarah is very interesting. but don't fully understand all the jargon, can you help decipher it?

Event Type Biography - what does this mean. And the
Start date 28 Mar 1827 does this mean when she went to India? if so then sadley it's not her.
Surieties: William H Savage will this be the person paying for her surieties?

Will take a look at the site you mention.

Hi Ann & Alice, Many thanks for replying.

William H Baker b1825 Staffordshire, Engineer went to Bombay India in the 2nd half of 1853 don't know if wife sailed with him then or later - her details are
Sarah Baker wife b 1827 Staffordshire, she would have had 2 children with her.

2nd Ancestor son of above William H Baker b 1857 in India. He lived in the Uk and went to India in 1879.

You could try fibis.org - Families in British India Society. It has a few bits on arrivals and departures, so you may be lucky.

Where can I find passenger arrivals for Bombay please? I have an ancestor who went to India around 1853 and another in 1879 But I don't know where to start looking. Anyone got any ideas please?
