just thought I would update. Visited the cem on sunday, found the plot very easily thanks to the map provided but sadly no stone :( We think maybe my grandfather just couldn't afford a stone after buying the plot.

We planted some flowers on the spot anyway, but its in a very obvious spot so at least I know have somewhere to visit my grandmother.

Sarah, sad to say it is unlikely there is a headstone. But the lady who sent you the map is probably the person to ask.

Hope I am wrong.

It might be worth trying this site out - they say they will take a photo for you of the headstone if one exists:

Good luck

Hello
Ive just heard back from Anfield re: the location of my grans grave, I had the plot number and the lady has sent me out a map and location. What I am hoping beyond hope is that there is a headstone. Anfield said there is only one person in the plot , which was 'owned' by my grandfather.

Does the fact that there is only one burial in the plot make it more likely there is a headstone? I'm too excited to wait you see! My grans parents and siblings are a family of ripper uppers - photos were looked at once then torn up, most family members never had a headstone and were never visited again after the funeral.

I am hoping that my grandfather, whose family all had headstones etc, passed this onto my gran.....
